Title: The moon just gave me cancer
Post by: jolly_old_saint on January 14, 2011, 06:20:51 AM
http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/298420/its-all-stars-new-zodiac-dates-released

Appropriately, the first comment I see there is "this is crazy hell this whole world is crazy."

Obvious solution to this problem is obvious:

Didn't they also officially  add the 13th zodiac?
Ophiuchus(Serpentarius)
Guess who falls under it?

While it's great that I don't need to worry about Zodiac Compatibility anymore, it sucks that I'll need to use a  gameshark to actually pick it.

One more reason to DESTROY THE SUN.

No sun = no worries about what constellation the sun is in.

Also note that this affects eastern astrology more than western astrology. The tropical zodiac is largely unaffected.
(To clarify: western astrology actually cares where the SUN is, and that's unchanged. The constellations are a useful reference point, but actually unrelated to your horoscope)

And no, they didn't add the 13th sign.
(Edited to remove ignorant statement implying it was part of the Babylonian zodiac at some point, which it wasn't. Though several other constellations were.)

Hell, no one's OFFICIALLY changed the dates(if astrology can be said to HAVE an official set of rules). And not JUST because it would demonstrate a gross misunderstanding of western astrology.

This is a remarkably large amount of fuss for one scientist pointing out that the Earth's existence in space is not a constant.

Way I see it, I'll accept that I'm a different sign when my Yahoo horoscope starts showing something other than Cancer.

You guys DO realize this change applies only to those born in 2009, right?

That's a gross misunderstanding of the news.
The Earth did not suddenly and violently rock about it's axis last week. It's been a gradual, ongoing process. As I am FAIRLY certain that no one born in ancient Babylon when the "traditional" dates were set is alive today, and that pretty much everyone now in existence today was born in the last century, after two millenia of drift...

These changes apply to everyone currently alive. Even Miss Cleo.

Well, more accurately, they apply to nobody, since astrology is a big fat load of hooie.
They merely apply to where the stars are in relation to the Earth. Which we PROBABLY would've noticed if they'd suddenly shifted wildly in 2009.

If you're saying the official dates of the signs are being changed... I do not believe there is a governing body to give any astrology rules any sort of official-ness.

The point: Astrology is even wronger than previously suspected. Science proved it.

Well, Jay, I really can't argue with that logic. Just was saying what I read...

...and what I read made no sense at all, now that I think about it.

Now let's all rock some chinese zodiac instead. Because they have way better signs.
And by better, I mean they used a Megaman X boss name generator. I'm born in the year of METAL ROOSTER!

My only solace comes in the form of HOLYCRAPVOTOMS! FINALLY!

At long last, Chirico can call out Roger Smith for stealing his robot's punch.

I think the more important thing to note in there is DAI-GUARD!

And I demand this be in the attack list.
Rocket Punch. Damage 9999. Ammo 1/1.

Dai-Guard without the rocket punch isn't right, moral, or legal.

Updated? Also, to copy roster list from srwg forum (and really shift thread focus):
Zambot 3
Daitarn 3
Trider-G7
Godsigma
Baldios
Godmars
Xabungle
Votoms (+VOTOMS OVA)
Orguss
Zeta Gundam
CCA
Gundam Wing
Gundam X
Turn A Gundam
SEED Destiny
00 S1
Dancouga
Dancouga Nova
Getter Robo Armageddon
Shin Mazinger
Daiguard
The Big O
Overman King Gainer
Gravion
Aquarion
Code Geass
Gurren Lagann (+movie)
Macross Frontier (+movie)
Eureka Seven Movie

Who cares about rocket punch? They have BIG BANG PUNCH! Yay for Shin Mazinger~

Also, shin getter prime! Yay for crazy Ryouma and space vaginas with teeth!

Also Gurren Lagann! Slightly earlier than anticipated.

Also, Gundam X again!

...what? I liked it. That show had the best character ever, the hilarious guy whose catchphrase was "that's what my dead wife used to say..."

...Though in hindsight, I think that guy's been the only thing that's kept the show from being released stateside.

...Roybea Leoy is still the greatest name ever.

GX was pretty decent IMHO. With some of the best OP music. Too bad sattlelite canon is always such a paint use in SRW.

To bad this game is PSP. It deserves a fully voiced ham-out between Kamina, Kouji and Lelouch (and maybe Shin Mazingers narrater to boot).

I don't see why it wouldn't be voiced..."Looks at MX and A Portable*

(Sorry for double posting!)
Well, from SRW L, at least.

It has Real Dancouga AND Nova? Sweet!
...
As long as we can drop the dakucougaken on the Nova's head at some point.

Oops, my bad. I'll admit I haven't seen many PSP SRW's and the DS titles aren't exactly chatty.

But then again, the way they're releasing this game (ore games) you can almost assume they'll already have a joint re-release ready in 2-3 years on one of the big consoles.

You know what, you're probably right. I can totally see this being a Compact 2-Impact kind of thing.

To the Max.

To the Alpha 2 Turbo Shin Gaiden Max,  in fact.
