DAMMIT! WHY CAN'T I HIT ANYTHING?
I told you we needed to recalibrate these rifles! But noooo, SOMEONE thought it was "too expensive" and that they were "good enough" already!

Astonage when you get a moment pull these Ginns apart and purge any incriminating data

our agents should send a flash signal tomorrow when they complete their missions after that I'll reveal the plan.

Great, an e-mail... They sure didn't waste any time...
*beep*
And another one... that's probably a bad sign.
...
I guess I oughta open 'em.

*skims recon report*
*sighs, looks at second mail*

We should deal with the La Gias issue soon, so we can move onto the next big thing. This report's not making me happy.

There ARE Big Zam Kais near Jupiter.
3 complete, 1 under construction.
They're mining resources from Jupiter's moons and the asteroid belt and shipping them to a massive orbital station for processing and assembly.
They have a large cargo shuttle that's currently being heavily reinforced. It looks like they intend to take this thing down into Jupiter's atmosphere, and it's large enough to carry 4 BZKs.

The reinforcing of the shuttle and completion of the fourth BZK are both expected to be finished in about a month.

It looks like they ARE intending to harness The Power. There's no other explanation for why you'd want to fly a cargo shuttle into Jupiter's atmosphere.

UNSpacy, in an unusual example of clear thinking, views this as a serious threat to the known galaxy.
While I'd like to tell you that a large fleet was folding towards Jupiter as we speak to dump a metric butt-ton of reaction warheads into the station and every related facility in the system... Given the political situation right now, that just ain't happenin'.

What UNS HAS done is formally request the AGGF's assistance in dealing with the issue. That's not really surprising. We're a skilled force with the experience and guns needed to deal with a large problem, we're already aware of the situation, we're in the area, and there's not exactly any love lost between us and anyone else in the Sol system anyways.
What IS surprising is that this is an official UNS request. It's from the top brass, not the Phantoms. For them to buck their own system like that... it's completely unheard of. They're scared, and bureaucrats halfway across the galaxy usually aren't afraid of anything that isn't at their front door. Hell, they didn't even wanna authorize reaction weaponry for the Protodevlin...

Certainly, our current situation makes it difficult to deal with the Jupiter crisis in a timely manner. It'd take us more than a month to get there if we left now, and we'd just run into a shuttle full of The Power'ed mechs.

BUT...
As it happens, the Focker, a Uraga-class stealth carrier, was damaged in a border skirmish and sent back to a colonial port for repairs 6 weeks ago. They're putting the finishing touches on her right now.
She's going to be "stolen by terrorists" some time in the next 4 days. If we accept, the crew will hold it in a safe location until we're ready to strike.

I'm just going to assume we accept the offer and lay out the rest of the details now.

When we're ready, the Focker will defold on the far side of the moon to mask the fold reaction, rapidly descend to Earth, and land in the ocean, all under full stealth.

From there, we run out in our mechs and hop aboard, ride back to orbit, and fold to the asteroid belt. Then crack some skulls.

Simple, right?

As for base defenses...
They have a moderate defense fleet, consisting primarily of zentradi mercs. Good mix of full-size and micloned.
All male, so there's no crazy special-ops bitches to worry about.

But don't forget that these guys were genetically engineered to be the ultimate soldier. And they were fighting interstellar wars millennia before homo sapiens beat it's first animal to death with a heavy stick.
It's nothing we can't handle, but don't get cocky.

There's 200 mercenary grandes. They're riding classic zentradi mecha. Looks like 60 Regulds, 40 Glaugs, 100 Gnerls. They may look silly, but don't let the Space War holodramas fool you. They're deadly in a dogfight.

There's also 220 micronized zents in human mecha, along with another 130 or so human pilots.
The miclone  and humans are sharing 120 Gelgoog-Js and 110 Gaza-Ds, with 80 Ga-Zowmns and 40 ReGelgs mixed in. It's believed that the zentradi miclones got dibs on the Ga-Zowmns and ReGelgs.

Mech and merc counts are approximate. Lacking direct computer access, the recon team had to estimate.

The station itself is studded with anti-mech weaponry. It's gonna be exciting getting close to it without cover. Recommend you bring your dogfights in close. It's harder for them to blast you if they're worried about hitting their own guys.

And of course, there's Jupiter's gravity well to worry about.

So it's not gonna be a pretty fight. But letting them start pumping mechs full of The Power is gonna be a lot uglier.
...
I'd also really like to convince them once and for all that BZK is NOT a viable superweapon. I mean, it IS, but I'm sick of seeing them. Especially after they actually got one operational last time. Let's try and make this a conclusive and thorough victory, so they're convinced of the need to start in on a NEW superweapon.

And I managed to get the AGGF access to the UNS mech database recently, so I've got some hard info for you.

First, our good ship, the Focker:
http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macross7/uraga-escortbattlecarrier.htm
I'm sorry about the limited specs, but she's classified and I can't talk anyone into giving us the higher security clearance levels. I have personal clearance, but it's tied to a biometric scanner so I can't share.
Rest assured she'll fit us comfortably.

The Zentradi mechs are here, though I'm sure you've seen a few of them in museums before...
http://www.new-un-spacy.com/sdfmacross/sdfmacross-index.html
Sadly, the Regulds are modular. We're not sure how many missile launchers they have  ready to equip, so we're not bothering to differentiate the 3 classes.
The tactical Regulds have a different frame, though. We know they don't have any of those, thank goodness. Recon and ECM capabilities would make things a lot harder for us.

And the mobile suits are here:
http://mahq.net/mecha/gundam/zz/index.htm

Except for Gelgoog-J. It's an older design, and you can find him here:

So...
Any questions?

harnessing "The Power" is useless if you get a certain distance from the planet itself

I think even that is a cover

for producing GN Drives....

The Power is viable on Earth too, chief.
ChoRyuJin kept it for 65 million years.

And if they find a chunk of Jupiter-X, they won't even need to visit Jupiter to Power up. BioNet did that back in the day.
Regardless of their primary plan, that would be a crown jewel in their collection.

And I can't figure out why you'd risk a base in the hellish nightmare of the Jupiter system if you can avoid it. You can build GN drives anywhere and the EM interference and collision hazards post by Jupiter and it's moons makes it a very undesirable base.
I'd build my GN drives inside the asteroid belt, personally.

Either way... we've got a ride and reasonable knowledge of their facilities. Whatever their motivation, they still need a royal beat-down.

Oh, and the Focker could also come to our base after splashdown. It'd be a less subtle approach, but it'd make loading our stuff up a lot easier.

You can build GN drives anywhere\
(the guy who gave us the four we have said differently)

regardless, we have more pressing needs right now

and we can't fold within the earth-sphere (inside the orbit of the principality) so theres no point to a pick up here....  well I guess we do need to head to space anyway so we'll need a hand getting there

I've pulled all the strings I can and it looks like the White Sands mass driver will be open on Sunday (they'll even let us burrow a Pegasus class to carry supplies to the moon provided we carry some cargo for a friend) I've got crews loading our stuff right now

we can take all our mechs and related supplies, however we can't take all of our personal arms (limit there per person per person)

anything else?

INCOMING FLASH SIGNAL DETECTED FROM UNIT 00-02.

"Ready when you are."

dragonmasterjb0: Apparently, in the new series, Lina is arrested at one point on charges of being Lina Inverse.

The rest of the party, in typical Slayers fashion, gives a reaction to the effect of "Sounds reasonable."

Why not fold from Earth orbit? What the Feds don't know won't hurt them.
Though really, I think the plan was to get past the moon before folding anyways. Folds are about a stealthy as a clown wearing a neon pink jacket and waving road flares, so it's never a good idea to do them in view of... well, anyone if you can help it.

And it's not that I'm averse to a lunar excursion.  I've never actually been to the moon. But borrowing a ship to take us to a ship that can come here seems... redundant?

It does have the advantage of subtlety I suppose. Skipping the high-speed re-entry and lifting from a mass-transport ship makes for a few less question marks on the traffic grid. Provided there's no leaks from our ride(which I assume you've taken care of).

Anyways...
First things first.
We've got the signal, so what's the plan for our portal-happy friends?

I recieved the Raftclanz yesterday so I am ready to go. The Brigandi and Avalanche are ready for Derek and Commander Sume Gai if they want to use them.

Things can always get worse...

well it's really very simple we'll hide off the coast in the Metatron and surface to attack just when things go to hell on base.

as for our on base operatives I'm going send a small boat to an unmonitored shore to pick them up before hand (unless they'd rather steal an enemy machine (for witch they have the codes to change the IFF registration)

Jaybee, Hawks, Tyria, Dsvaun, Ianator, choose a mech and lets go(I'll use the 008X)

PS. Jaybee folds are dangerous in the Earth-sphere because of all the debris floating around (bits of broken colonies junked Mobile units etc.) and the EF really dislikes people coming and going via fold because although they're easy to spot they are hard to track (bureaucratic nonsense.)

Well, folding INTO a debris field is certainly dangerous, but it shouldn't be too hard to fold OUT of one.

Either way... fold from past lunar orbit to avoid detection.

Launching now! Stampeeeeeede!

Make sure to load the YF-21 I'll need it for the Agied+

and before I forget this is Murrue Ramious She will captain the Metatron for us (she was on the first of the class during the AEUG uprising)
