The spoiler discussion thread for Metal Max Returns proved to be a big hit, and I think I can speak for more than just myself when I say it helped me get past some things I never would have figured out on my own. Same idea with this thread.

In Akira's campaign, how do I activate Buriki Daioh? I'm up to the part where Toei gives you a handful of odd things to do, but can't seem to advance beyond it no matter what. I do what he tells me to do in the exact order he wants, I've tried washing my hands before doing all of it, still he'll only tell me what he wants me to do when I talk to him.

Edit: You need to wash your hands BEFORE using the bathroom, AFTER you touch the four things on the first floor and offer a prayer to Buriki Daioh.

Just want to remember people that there's a
spoiler tag
available for use as well. WARNING, SPOILER AHEAD! I'm aware this thread is explicitly about spoiler and as such shouldn't need them, but then you shouldn't need to use hundred lines of space just to separate normal text from spoiler text either.

Whenever you get stuck, just refer to one of the walkthroughs on GameFAQs. And if you'd rather not levelgrind through the v2.0 translation after having done so for the v1.0 translation, use my quick-level-gain codes:

Orsted: 7E0D1E64
Pogo: 7E0D5E64
Cube, Captain Square: 7E0D9E64
Master, Lei/Yun/Samo in final chapter: 7E0DDE64
Sunset: 7E0E1E64
Masaru: 7E0E5E64
Akira: 7E0E9E64
Oboro: 7E0EDE64
Gori, Maddog, Taro, Ryoma, Straybow: 7E0F1E64
Beru, Matsu, O-Robo, Uranus: 7E0F5E64
Zaki, Hash: 7E0F9E64

Oh, by the way, I'm a major fan of SNESMusic.org, and I've even contributed a few SPCs and SPC sets to the site over the years. My good friends YK and Felix Trapper recently added some new SPCs to the Live A Live set after replaying the game with the new translation.

A couple of warnings: avoid the quick level gain codes in the Kung Fu chapter and the end of Akira's chapter. With the Kung Fu chapter, you can cheat your inheritor out of their ultimate skill, and with Akira's chapter, there's no problem leveling him up but if you leave it on with Buriki Daioh, he gains a level, and that might seem cool until his HP reverts from ????/???? to 999/999 and the plane outside the temple slaughters you repeatedly. (Akira's death sequence changes in Buriki Daioh, incidentally.)

Also, if you have characters with super-high levels and characters with super-low levels (Masaru, Sundown) in the same party at the end, the enemies can get pretty weird -- hard to beat because of your high level characters, which makes it a little harder for your low level ones to get powered up. If I was doing it again, I'd turn off the code when everyone hit 20.
