Anyone else paranoid about the timing of this announcement?

It's an odd platform choice, and it's curious that after all the trashing Matsuno received at SEx he now gets to retry the Ogre Saga. But what's about the timing?

I'm intrigued by the new mechanics, too bad I dont own a psp... Might make me get one!

Is that Agrias from FFT?

About the timing:
I guess he means that the "remake" comes a few months after AGTP "retranslation" of the game?

The timing is great for us (knowing the original will help appreciate the improvements), but I doubt that Japanese people took notice of a foreign oversea retranslation of an over one and a half decades old game. =)

The first screens look nice.

The Lord of Elemental, Book 2 of Mystery of the Emblem/BSFE, and now this?

It's like the greatest hits of the SuperNES's SRPG catalog.

At this rate something crazy like a Bahamut Lagoon, Der Langrisser, or Majin Tensei could be remade/re-imagined.

Well, here's hoping at least.

Same artist, so no surprise, really.

Well more than the artist, the writer isthe father of those characters.
I even consider the whole Ivalice world and lore, some sort of Gaiden to Filgahia (or whatever its spelled).

I am .hoping they retranslate the game with some fancy old english like script (and retranslation) like the FFT remake.

A good writer a Shakesperean dialect maketh not.

Seriously though, have there been any patches that translate any game to ye olde english?

It seems to be confirmed already that Kajiya Productions (Alexander O. Smith and Joseph Reeder) will be doing the English translation of the game.
